A couple of years ago, a certain young woman got employed to work in a marketing agency. Driven by the need to keep learning and evolving, she decided to attend a marketing conference in South Africa. Her goal was to get the knowledge and exposure she needed to stand out in her field and succeed.
Unfortunately, her organization was not willing to sponsor the trip or the cost of the conference. Undeterred, she paid for the trip and conference herself.
At the conference, she was bold and stood up to answer questions so many times that the keynote speaker took notice and offered to meet with her exclusively after the conference. She gained access to an otherwise closed mentor-ship circle because she took a leap of faith to step out of her comfort zone.
Today, she leads a brand and marketing agency that works with some of the leading international brands in Nigeria. Her name is Chizor Malize.

He studied to be an obstetrician and gynecologist in the UK. However, after practicing for a couple of years, he decided he was more interested in trading and investments.
He took the plunge and after 15 years of actively studying, trading and investing in the financial markets, he is regarded as an expert and lectures at a top business school in London.
He wasn't always sure where he wanted to end up but once he realized he was more interested in trading in the financial markets, he took the step to learn all he could.
Today, he heads the client management team in an investment company he co-founded and runs his training in multiple countries in Africa. His name is Dr Aderemi Banjoko

Those are real stories from two speakers at the First Gem event I attended this week.
Sitting in that room with over 1,000 other women, I connected to the stories these two speakers shared about themselves and it also made me realize, successful people do not wait until they are ready.
They simply step out, face fear in the face and do what they need to do to succeed.
Start now
We all can learn a thing or two from Mrs. Chizor Malize and Dr. Aderemi Banjoko as we prepare for 2018.
We need a sense of adventure to explore the possibilities around us. We don't need to wait for everything to be perfect. We just need to try.
Most of us wait to get the 'all clear sign'
However, here's the deal; there's no point waiting to feel ready because it might never happen.
If you're going to achieve anything in 2018, you are going to have to accept that you are enough and step out in spite of the fear
According to James Clear ( a habit specialist), It doesn't matter if you're trying to start a business, lose weight, write an exam, or achieve any number of goals… who you are, what you have, and what you know
right now is good enough to get going.
You just need to start.
Some of the questions that kept coming up at the event ,were questions on how to start an investment club.
I was happy to see a lot of people asking about investment clubs.
and that's why I plan to get my book on investment clubs published in January 2018 even if I don't feel ready.
Last week , I shared
3 really important things I learned this year.
Now it's your turn..
What really important thing did you learn or discover about yourself or business this year?
and what are you determined to achieve in 2018 even if you don't feel ready?
Share in the comment section below and let's discuss the possibilities.
Remember, a goal shared is half accomplished.
