Has this happened to you before?
You decide to take a quick nap and set an alarm so you don't oversleep.
You tuck into bed and you're out like a lamp beckoning sweet dreams.
and it's a really good nap. You haven't had one like this in a while and then Grrrrrrrr.....
You hear it, the dreaded alarm sound.
Oh no, Is it time to wake up already? You think to yourself.
But i just started really enjoying my nap now. Where did the time go?
Arrrgggh (Yeah, that's what i usually say, Lol)
You figure you have two options. Hit the snooze button and continue with your nap or get out of bed to continue with your activity for the day and try not to feel crappyThe
Which option would you take?
Hmm...I can hear you say it depends and i totally understand and in fact, i agree.
So, what if that decision would determine the rest of your life? Would that change your perspective?
I bet it would.
You see, that's what we do too often. We get to a defining moment in our lives, we recognize this moment and then we hit the snooze button.
It's so bad that some of us have become snooze button addicts. I used to be one literally. (emphasis on 'used', please don't judge me and i won't judge you..Lol)
So how can you break this 'snooze button addiction'?
Here are three (3) brain builders to help you break the snooze button habit i.e.
go slow habit, stay clueless habit etc.
Train yourself to wake up and smell the coffee
Caffeine acts as a powerful stimulant to our brains and nervous system, but did you know the stimulating effect can be triggered just by smelling a cup of coffee?
Scientists tested the theory on rats and found that
a sniff of coffee activates several genes in the brain in ways that reduce the effect of sleep deprivation.
Hmm..in this case, the coffee you need is a chance at living the life of your dreams. sniff sniff.
That should wake you up from your slumber.
Stop managing uncomfortable situations
Try not to get comfortable with discomfort.
A really warm and uncomfortable room should discourage you from hitting the snooze button. That should come naturally
Based on my private consultation sessions with people, I have discovered that the reason people try to manage uncomfortable situations is because They don't believe they can get anything better than what we have currently.
When you have a strong sense of purpose, It heats up your space pretty fast and spurs you into taking an action like getting out of bed rather than hitting the snooze button.
