Still on the matter

Setting goals? Really, do they work? Can't I just get on with life as usual and hope for the best? I know, right? Sometimes, the thought of making out time from the hustle and bustle of everyday activities to sit and write out goals can bring on a murmuring headache. Or the lure of catching up on a Grey's anatomy episode with some spicy Asun (peppered beef) and cold refreshing bottle of coke can seem like a more appetizing use of time. I'm not sure I'm a goal-setting kinda person. Yes, I haven't achieved all I dream about but it's ok, I'm sure it will happen soon. But will it? Sometimes a mental block can keep us from getting out of our comfort zone. This week, I had tough time trying to kick out a certain mental block. One of my projects wasn't going the exact way I wanted. It was frustrating but I wasn't ready to give up. I kept trying to bring to life a dead business case. After a while, I thought of giving up and resigning to 'fate' Just throwing in the towel and admitting to myself and others, it couldn't work This thought lingered on for a while until, after a conversation with a friend, I just decided to fight. I deliberately started to consider the possibility of my preferred way not working and viola, so many possibilities opened up. It's a mental game. You tell your brain it's impossible and it shuts down all your creative thinking brain cells. You tell your brain, 'hmm...it just might be possible' and your mind opens you up to a maze of possibilities. Recently, I became more aware of how much I haven't achieved simply because I did not set a goal to achieve it and remove all mental blocks. That just might be the case with you as well. Tough, but true. I understand setting goals might still sound like a lot of work for some people. It's ok, don't get into a frenzy, I've got you covered. We can work through it together. Its similar to the feeling you get when you need to do some household chores on a weekend after a crazy week. You feel overwhelmed but a friend happens to drop by and before you know it, and while catching up on juicy jist , you're able to get all the chores done in 60 minutes or less. Let me be that friend. We'll go through a process in 60 minutes to get it done. Please note this is on a pay what you want basis. What could be better than that? *wink I'm limiting this to only five (5) people this month.
