The vacation post (think dream bucket)

Some months ago, I read a post by a friend of mine on her skydiving experience

and all day, I kept thinking..’I need help men!, I’m too serious. I need to loosen up and have some fun in my life. All this investment talk all the time, I think I need to take a break’…Lol

I left a comment on her blog saying just that, and she buzzed me immediately asking what my comment meant.

Anyway, I told her I needed help and she offered great advice

I’ve written a number of blog posts about the bucket approach to investing,

and I think it’s about time we talk about building a dream bucket and enjoying our lives, after all we have only one life to live.

Now, I understand, some of us might be thinking ‘ hmm Tomie, I haven’t finished building my safety funds, I don’t think I can build a dream bucket now.

My response is  ‘Same here‘.

But, I’m still going to keep an open mind to learn how I can be deliberate about planning for a restful and fun trip or vacation without breaking the bank.

For instance, I plan to take my kids on a trip to Disney before they become teenagers (so help me God) and

I realize It might be wise to start setting money aside now, instead of waiting and praying for more money to come, or what do you think?

This week, I want to hear from you,

how can we be deliberate about living our lives fully without breaking the bank?

Because as most of you know, this is not my area of expertise.

Feel free to leave a comment below.

P.S. Like I said earlier, I got great advice so, I’m taking the rest of August off. This girl right here got herself a vacation, Lol. See you in September. Until then, keep thinking different and keep investing..

  1. I’d love to take a vacation this year. However, mid-year assessment has shown it would require a lot of finessing and finagling that I am not quite ready for.
